Rangehood Ducting Information

Rangehoods work to extract the air from above your cooktop and in the kitchen, helping to keep your home free from smoke, grease and lingering cooking smells, which can settle into your upholstery, carpets or rugs. Over time, these have the potential to become pungent and odorous.

It is important to ensure that your rangehood is ducted properly to ensure the best possible air extraction results and noise reduction. This is why we recommend the use of Deflect-o ‘Semi-Rigid’ universal ducting kits. Semi-Rigid aluminium ducting holds its full diameter and form when bent into shape and also offers a superior temperature range to that of flexible foil type ducting. The ducting expands to a straight length of 3000mm and should be extended in sections from the centre, out to each end.

Outlined below are the 3 different ducting kits that we recommend for use to compliment your Teka rangehood. When selecting your rangehood, you can customise your order by selecting one of the following kits. You do have the option to proceed through the checkout without select any ducting, but before you make this decision we do recommend that you read our FAQ's and Rangehood Buying Guides before making this decision, as choosing not to duct your rangehood to atmosphere can change the efficiency of your rangehood.

The Universal Wall/Eave Kit is designed to be installed from the rangehood to an exterior wall or under an eave. This kit is the best alternative option to ducting to atmosphere through the roof. The grill vent consists of a calcium filled, polypropylene plastic with UV stabilisers and comes with a removable front grill and mesh for ease of cleaning.

The Universal Tiled Roof Kit is designed to be installed from the rangehood to the atmosphere through a tiled roof. It is supplied with a Roof Mushroom Cowl which is a far superior option to the common type of roof cowl, offering greater protection from birds, rain and rust.

The Universal Metal Roof Kit is designed to be installed from the rangehood to the atmosphere through a tiled roof. It is supplied with a Roof Mushroom Cowl which is a far superior option to the common type of roof cowl, offering greater protection from birds, rain and rust.
